Frequently Asked Questions

How is Kinderdance® different from other dance/movement/gymnastics programs?
Kinderdance® teaches to the whole child.  The curriculum was designed specifically for young children, and includes activities that help children achieve both physical and emotional developmental milestones.  The programs also incorporate academic concepts like numbers, colors, shapes and words.  For more detailed information click HERE to read the Science of Kinderdance®.
How does my child sign up for Kinderdance® programs?
Some schools offer Kinderdance® programs to all students as part of their curriculum, and some schools offer Kinderdance® as an enrichment or after school program.  Some do both!  Go to the REGISTER page and find your school if you'd like to sign up and pay online for enrichment/after school programs.  Go to the CONTACT page if you'd like to have Kinderdance® programs offered at your school.

How can my school offer Kinderdance® as a movement program for all the students?
Many schools offer Kinderdance classes as a part of their curriculum, with weekly classes for all the students.   Classes generally last for half an hour to forty minutes, and Kinderdance charges a flat hourly rate.  Sometimes the school includes classes as part of their budget, and sometimes parents pay an additional fee.  Click HERE to contact Kinderdance if your school is interested in finding out more.

How much does it cost?
The cost varies for each school depending on the length of the class and the length of the semester. Go to the REGISTER page to find your school.

How long does the program last?
The programs run through the academic year, usually split into 2 or three semesters.  Some schools continue to offer Kinderdance during the summer.

Am I obligated to stay through the full year?
You may sign up for just one or all semesters.

How do I pay my bill?
Some schools collect the money through their after school program, and some have you pay directly to Kinderdance.  If you pay Kinderdance, you can mail a check with your registration form to Kinderdance, 645 West End Ave #1F, NY NY  10025, or pay online through Chase QuickPay or by credit card.  Payment details for each school are on the REGISTRATION page.

Can I watch the class?
We find that students generally benefit more from a class without the distraction of parents in the same room.  If you have a compelling reason (Grandma's visiting from Norway!  My child has major separation issues! etc.) why you'd like to watch the class, please contact us.

Is there a recital?
At the end of the school year, we invite families and friends to a year end demonstration to see what we've learned.

Are uniforms required?
For after school and enrichment classes, we recommend that students wear appropriate clothing.  For Kinderdance: leotard, tights, ballet shoes and tap shoes.  For Kindergym, Kindertots, Kindermotion: T-shirt, shorts or sweatpants.
